One of the most haunted places in Britain and a hotbed for sightings of ghosts and UFOs has been identified – as a leafy stretch of the A30. Experts say part of the road which starts in Cornwall and carves through Devon before heading east into Somerset is the nation’s most haunted highway.
An eight-mile stretch between Chard and Crewkerne has been the centre of repeated reports of scary goings on dating back 400 years.
They include a constant series of sightings around Windwhistle Hill of “strange, unusual and eerie lights, sounds, figures and shapes”.
